  within the first few minutes, mr. stewart asked geoffrey jackson if the members of the governing body consider themselves to be god's spokesperson on earth.. his response: "that would be presumptuous of us" (implying that they don't consider themselves to be god's sole channel of communication).. to me, that was the worst lie of about 26 lies he's told during this hearing.

  however, mr. stewart missed an opportunity to call out mr. jackson on this bold-faced lie.

  he should have asked him to explain why the watchtower magazine teaches otherwise.

  at 20:00 - 21:30 in his testimony, mr. geoffrey jackson - in answer to mr. stewart's question about the governing body claiming to be god's spokespersons - claimed that it would be presumptuous of them to say that they were the only spokespersons which god was using.

  mr. jackson doesn't seem to know what he and his fellow g.b.

  members - and the providers of his lifestyle, the wtbts - actually teach as "bible truth.

  Tried to say this on another thread but no one listened..

  GJ is saying, without answering fully which is theocratic warfare: ''all Jehovah's witnesses are spokesmen, not just us". (All JW's preach and teach and are supposedly Gods spokesmen or messengers).

  Obviously, he knows what Stewart means, but he is answering the question that was asked.

  Asking if the governing body are Gods only 'Spokesmen', without elaborating on exactly what he meant, was too much of a vague question, in my (quite possibly wrong) opinion.

  Either that was deliberate, to allow Jackson to give that particular answer for some reason, or Mr.Stewart dropped the ball there.. (made a mistake).

  "Do you view yourselves as God's only channel of communication on earth today?" ..may have been a better question.

  Then, maybe:
  

  "Do all who want to either be baptised as one of Jehovah's Witnesses; or remain as one of Jehovah's Witnesses (once baptised) and not face a charge of apostasy and being shunned, hold the same view, that you are God's channel of communication on earth today ?"

  Also:
  

  "If a Jehovah's Witness today is being intentionally disobedient to any directions coming from the Governing Body, is that tantamount to disobeying God himself, according to Jehovah's Witness beliefs as laid out in various publications?" .. That's a rough outline that could have been asked.

  I believe that the greater percentage of JWs-You Will Not Be Able to Help, no Matter What Facts You Show Them.

  so i ran into this brother whom ive known for a while and the conversation led into me being invited to come back to the kingdom hall.

  we talked for about an hour during which time i explained to him 607 being the wrong date and a lot of other stuff including the child abuse cases in australia.

  but what i wanted to relate was the last few minutes of our conversation.

  And if the end doesn’t come in my time and I die, how do you think I will feel if the last few moments of my life I see my wife and children and Know in my heart that I will see them again. Do you know the comfort that I will feel on my death bed knowing this? Or if I see one of my children or my wife dying before my eyes, do you even understand the comfort that I will have knowing that I will see them again.
  

  All I can think is this:

  Ask him why it is only by serving within this particular organisation that he can have any reason to believe in an afterlife?...

  Because Jehovah won't resurrect him or his family if he doesn't serve the org?

  What leads him to believe that a loving God would only reward with everlasting life.. those that preach false doctrines and are willing to cut their own family members out of their lives completely?

  Especially for something they may not even personally believe in? (Hardly anyone, perhaps even nobody, would believe overlapping generations etc. if it wasn't in a Watchtower)

  Would not a loving God reward those who live with personal integrity and honestly held beliefs that are based on the overwhelming evidence, rather than mindless drones that would support a false religious belief system just because they like some parts of it and want to live forever?

  How would an all knowing God who supposedly requires worship in truth, and to love your neighbour (fellow man) and Him above ALL other things feel about such people?

  with all the talk about the org's policies and failures regarding child sexual abuse being publically exposed in australia, i thought that it may be a good time to highlight this... i apologise if this has already been discussed, but on the 9th of july the independent inquiry into child sexual abuse in england and wales was opened.

  Or simply ask:

  "do you (Governing Body) view yourselves as Gods only channel of communication on earth today? "

  Possibly also:

  "And do Jehovah's Witnesses have to agree that you are the only channel of communication, or else they will be shunned?"

  I don't understand why Mr.Stewart phrased the question in the only way that would allow Jackson to give a misleading answer?

  No, it was the truth. All JW's are seen as spokesmen, or prophets, for God.

  Theocratic warfare at its finest..

  Stewart should ask him:

  "Do the Governing Body teach that they are the only people on earth today who can decide the correct and truthful way to interpret the Bible..? and that they alone have the authority from the true God to do so..?

  And would a JW be shunned for openly disagreeing with one of your teachings or interpretations, as published in the Watchtower magazine and also through letters from the Governing Body, if they did not respond to 'correction' , as in remaining silent?"

  Please can someone email the RC??

  I've been encouraging a lot of people (JW's) to watch this, it is vital Geoffrey is hit from every angle (so to speak).

  Of course he'll word it better, I thought I made that clear, but I lack common sense and social skills.. Plus haven't slept much.

  Orphan Crow, please send those links, it could make all the difference and he may just think I'm a total madman (probably right).

  This is our last shot at making a real difference (possibly).

  The leaders have not set the example in 'obeying Caesar'. They must be held to account for it publically..

  Just email them the link to the transcript of what he said. Maybe say he gave 'a fine witness'.

  Would they have been afraid of watching Jesus in court?
